Third year of a three year grant of $150,000 for expansion of successful program in Auburn and Enumclaw into the Kent area. The mission is to improve the profitability of independent businesses, through knowledge and skill development, and stimulate economic growth.

SEATTLE PACIFIC UNIVERISTY $23,728 For Mentorship

First year of a 3 year grant (totaling $51,228) is for integrating and extending the valued mentorship program to the remainder of the academic areas and SPU students.

$7,000 for Social Venture Entrepreneurship

First of a two year grant to initiate a campus business plan competition which focuses on the Social Venture.

UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON

$25,000 for Business Plan Competition

Third year of a three-year grant is for a total of $75,000. The competition is focused on the education process and creating new ventures. The Competition continues to be extremely successful, provides a substantial learning experience for all participants, and continues to have a positive involvement and effect on all the northwest schools. Funding will be used for prizes.

NORTHWEST SCHOOL FOR HEALING - IMPAIRED CHILDREN

$29,851 for annual annuity

The grant is specifically exempted from Mission and Guidelines of Foundation. It honors the request of our mentor, Herbert Jones, for the importance of education for these children, who will be in our business community one day. It further is the recognition of the entrepreneurial character of the School and its management team.

$28,000 for teacher support

Continuation of the three year grant to provide an additional teacher while School secures funds for the endowment to support the salary of that teaching position in the future.

WHITWORTH COLLEGE

$48,085 for Micro-Enterprise Development

Second year of a three year grant for a total of $132,208 is to strengthen the experiential learning component with service to the community. Through the entrepreneurial curriculum focus a model program to a micro enterprise approach for community revitalization./p>

EASTERN WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY

$69,528 is for the Center of Entrepreneurial Activities—Business Resource Center

Extension of the previous grant for two years to continue assistance for activities of the Center to enhance the networking, education, and service directly for the students and Spokane County, and for the Inland Empire.

GONZAGA UNIVERSITY

WHITWORTH COLLEGE

$20,000 for a Business Plan Competition

This grant was made specifically to Gonzaga for the effort of these Universities. This will provide prize funding for their collaborative competition for the students of these schools, and perhaps others in the Spokane area and the Inland Empire. This centralization of efforts has provided a significant experience for all participating students and a more efficient funding for the business community support.

GONZAGA UNIVERSITY

$9,500 for New Venture Lab

This grant will assist in creating a new venture classroom course for the Hogan students which will have outside activity within the community businesses.

HERITAGE COLLEGE

$25,000 for student internships

A new three year grant will total $75,000. This grant will continue to provide for internships with local businesses in an important economic area with a substantial impact for students, school, and community.

NORTHWEST ENTREPRENEUR NETWORK

$22,000 is for Entrepreneur University

This provides financial assistance to students from our Northwest universities and colleges to attend the seminar with entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, attorneys, marketing and sales experts.

SEATTLE CENTRAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE

$32,000 for entrepreneurial training

Single year grant provides for evening classes and assistance for community entrepreneurs, including new Americans, to be successful in their existing or potential new business ventures.

SEATTLE UNIVERSITY

$30,000 for Business and Law Entrepreneurship Clinic

Second year for this three year program, total of $90,000, will integrate the efforts of the Law School and Business School to provide a sharing/learning experience for students and to support the small, minority businesses in the Seattle community and specifically those near the campus.

BANBRIDGE GRADUATE INSTITUTE

$24,000 for Social Entrepreneur Internship

A three year grant (total of $56,000) is for a program which will become self funding thereafter. Students will work hands on with entrepreneurial start ups which seek to build stronger local economies and preserve environmental quality.

ENTERPRISE FOR EQUITY

$25,100 for Low Income Entrepreneurs

Focus is on launching new entrepreneurs in business in the South Sound by providing business training, technical training, technical assistance, mentoring and support to low income people.
